Get ready for a thrilling development from Porsche! The German automaker just dropped a tantalizing teaser of the new Taycan Turbo GT. Think of this as a hardcore, track-oriented version of their flagship electric sedan, ready to steal the four-door EV Nürburgring record from the reigning champ, the Tesla Model S Plaid. The big reveal is coming on March 11th.
Taycan Turbo GT: A Nürburgring Warrior
While Porsche unveiled a refreshed Taycan range last month, the Taycan Turbo GT was conspicuously missing. Turns out, it was busy doing something special. This mysterious model is believed to be the very car that dethroned the Plaid with a blistering 7:07.55 second Nürburgring lap time. That’s an impressive 18 seconds faster! Of course, both EVs trail the incredible 7:05.298 seconds set by the Rimac Nevera hypercar.
What The Teaser Tells Us
Even though the teaser image is shrouded in darkness, Porsche knows how to leave us wanting more. Let’s crank the brightness and examine the details:
- Aggressive Aero: A prominent front splitter juts out, hinting at aerodynamic mastery designed for speed and stability.
- Track-Ready Wheels: The front wheels look like solid discs, likely covering massive brakes engineered for brutal track punishment.
- Race-Focused Interior: That helmet-clad driver and the silhouette of a half roll cage tell us this Taycan means business – expect deleted rear seats to make way for track-day essentials.
- Dominant Rear End: The highlight is the massive rear wing and a revised rear bumper sporting an aggressive diffuser. This design screams downforce and grip!
Could all that smoky drama mean this new Taycan will also be able to pull off insane drifts? We can only hope so. Expect plenty of track-specific performance goodies, maybe even a power-boost button inspired by Porsche’s Formula E racer.
What’s Next?
I’m excited to see the full potential of this Taycan Turbo GT unleashed on March 11th. Porsche is clearly aiming to establish its EV dominance on the world’s most demanding circuit. Will it have the edge to conquer the Rimac Nevera’s record, too? Only time will tell – and I’ll be glued to the livestream for the big reveal.
